Bertha M. H. Palmer letter to Samuel Sidney McClure [manuscript], 1891 Dec 18.

Ms. Palmer, President of the Board of Lady Managers of the Worlds Columbian Exposition, acknowledges receipt of McClure's letter of August 29th but declines to add her name to a list of subscribers. She writes that she has had many such requests from publishers, but that she is too occupied. She adds that she will be glad to forward material from time to time regarding the progress of their work if he would publish it. She ends by saying that she regrets that she is unable to contribute to his columns.

Social leader and philanthropist. Appointed President of the Board of the Worlds Columbian Exposition and went to Europe to represent the Fair and was particularly successful in Belgium and Italy.
